WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) met with United States Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao where the two discussed excessive aircraft noise over Queens and improving charter bus safety in the wake of the charter bus crash in Flushing.
Meng and Chao met on Capitol Hill during a meeting Chao held with the Congressional Women's Caucus, of which Meng is a member.
Meng explained that increased airplane noise over Queens is a top concern of many constituents.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) today issued the following statement in response to the House Republican tax bill.
"The Republican tax plan is a giant giveaway to the wealthiest Americans on the backs of middle class families, and it will be catastrophic for our economy. The plan eliminates and reduces critical tax breaks for the middle class, such as the state and local income tax deduction that is particularly significant for New Yorkers, in order to pay for massive tax breaks for the wealthy.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) introduced legislation to create a prize competition to incentivize the development of technology that can successfully, and more rapidly, remove carbon from the atmosphere.
"Presence of carbon in the atmosphere contributes to rising sea levels and heat waves around the globe, and we are already seeing the devastating consequences," said Meng. "We must take action to reduce the amount of carbon in our atmosphere.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on the New York City Department of Health investigating a cluster of Legionnaires' disease in downtown Flushing, Queens. Twelve confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease have been reported in the area in the past two weeks. Meng represents Flushing in Congress.
"My office has been in touch with the Department of Health and I remain in contact with the agency as it investigates the cluster of Legionnaires' disease cases in Flushing.

U.S. Reps. send letter to National Credit Union Administration

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) sent a letter to every United States governor requesting that each state require local police lockups to have feminine-hygiene products on hand for female detainees if such a policy is not already in place. This request is similar to the letter she sent former Attorney General Loretta Lynch in July 2016 requesting that federal prisons provide these products to female inmates, a policy that the U.S.
