QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) visited the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center in Queens where she thanked agency personnel for the work they have done to assist local residents and businesses impacted by flooding that occurred in the borough this past May. 

Meng’s congressional committee – the House Appropriations Committee – funds the SBA, and all other federal government agencies, which includes resources to help bring this type of assistance to the borough.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Reps Grace Meng (D-Queens) and Gregory Meeks (D-Queens) today called on the head of Con Edison to compensate Queens residents who lost power last week during the heatwave that hit New York City. 

In a letter to Chief Executive Officer Timothy Cawley, the lawmakers urged the utility to consider issuing bill credits to those affected by prolonged outages and power shutoffs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she honored Francis Lewis High School student Cher Shu Yi Li in Washington, D.C. for winning the Congresswoman’s “Sixth Congressional District Art Contest.” 

The annual competition, which consists of entries from high school and middle school students in Queens, is part of “An Artistic Discovery,” the national art contest held by the House of Representatives that showcases the artwork of students in congressional districts all across the nation.

Grace Meng’s (D-NY) bipartisan measure to improve how hate crimes on college campuses are tracked and reported passed the House Appropriations Committee as part of the Fiscal Year 2027 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education and Related Agencies Appropriations Bill. 

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she recently presented several Queens organizations with millions of dollars in federal funding that she secured in Congress.

Meng visited Queens College, the New York Hall of Science, the King of Kings Foundation, New Immigrant Community Empowerment (NICE) and the Pomonok Houses where she presented each with checks, spoke with officials and constituents and saw the way the money she obtained will be used.
