Seniors and Social Security

On average, each day about 10,000 Americans turn 65 years old, and the benefits of Social Security and Medicare have been a staple of our nation for decades helping provide for these Americans when they become seniors.

Recently, some Members of Congress have proposed sweeping changes to these programs that would eviscerate the contract between America and its seniors. If cut, these earned benefits would send millions of Americans into an immediate crisis, as so many rely on these funds for food, housing, and other basic living expenses. That is why I will continue to oppose cuts to these programs in any form.

I will continue to closely monitor developments that impact our seniors and will always work to preserve the critically important benefits that seniors deserve and have earned.
