Health

I believe that affordable health care is not a privilege, but a right. Americans should not be forced to scrape together funds just to afford routine doctor visits or lifesaving medications. We must continue to work to fix our health care system. While it is known as one of the best in the world, it is not without flaw.

This past year, I alongside my Democratic colleagues, got the Inflation Reduction Act signed into law by President Biden. It is a once in a generation bill that helps lower prescription drugs prices. Most notably capping the prices of insulin at $35 for people with diabetes covered by Medicare.

While this is a major step in helping millions of people get the care they need, there is still much more work to be done to eliminate disparities in access and affordability to care.
