QUEENS, NY – Last night, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) held a virtual seminar on ranked choice voting for New York City Council District 24's special election which is scheduled to take place in Queens on February 2.
The event included remarks from Meng and Susan Lerner, Executive Director of Common Cause/NY, a government watchdog organization.

QUEENS, NY. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) today commended President Biden for signing a presidential memorandum to address the anti-Asian sentiment that has spiked since the outbreak of the coronavirus, as well as actions to promote racial equity in COVID-19 response.
The memorandum takes action to combat this xenophobia against Asian American and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs).

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement after President Joe Biden issued an Executive Order to help working families have access to nutritious meals.
Specifically, the Executive Order (EO):
  • Urges U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to issue new guidance that would help 12 million people receive enhanced Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits. While Congress authorized emergency increases to SNAP, this was not available to the lowest income households.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today announced the reopening of the Small Business Administration's Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) which provides forgivable loans to small businesses that have suffered economic losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative, which was closed on August 8, 2020 despite more than $130 billion remaining in the program, was reopened under the $900 billion coronavirus relief package—which became law on December 27, 2020.

"President Trump is a danger to our democracy and nation. He incited yesterday's chaos, violence, and destruction at the U.S. Capitol," said Meng. "His removal must be immediate and swift. Vice President Pence must invoke the 25 Amendment to protect our democracy from further strain. If this is not done, Congress must return to impeach and remove the president."
