U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) has been selected to serve as an Assistant Whip in the House of Representatives.
Meng was appointed to the position by House Democratic Whip Steny Hoyer (D-MD), the second highest ranking Democrat in the House.
In his capacity as Democratic Whip, Hoyer works to build unity among House Democrats.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), a member of the House Small Business Committee, today issued the following statement on the death of Jack Friedman, Executive Director of the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

"Queens has lost a great advocate for the borough's business community. Jack Friedman did so much to assist local business owners, and he worked tirelessly to help strengthen the Queens economy. His experience and resourcefulness helped countless entrepreneurs get on their feet and grow their businesses.

Due to a federal judge in Texas temporarily blocking President Obama's executive action on immigration, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has been forced to cancel the forum it was scheduled to host with U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) this Monday, February 23 in Elmhurst, Queens.
According to USCIS, its activities in support of expanded DACA and DAPA have ceased in accordance with the Court's order.
