Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), a member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, issued the following statement after the House Foreign Affairs Committee passed her bipartisan Divided Families Reunification Act (H.R. 1771). The measure now heads for a vote in the full House.

Meng's bill would require the U.S. Secretary of State and the U.S. Special Envoy on North Korea Human Rights Issues to prioritize helping divided Korean American families reunite with family members in North Korea.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Reps. Grace Meng (D-NY), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), and Jesús "Chuy" García (D-IL), introduced bold legislation that would ensure a more inclusive and welcoming system to help new Americans achieve their American Dream.
The "New Deal for New Americans Act" would establish critical assistance programs for immigrants and refugees to overcome common challenges such as language barriers and employment attainment, and help in breaking down barriers to naturalization.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she will hold a town hall meeting on Saturday, November 2, 2019 on the campus of Queens College. The event, to be held in conjunction with One Queens Indivisible, will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Benjamin Rosenthal Library building. It will be open to the public and media.
"I am excited to hold this upcoming town hall meeting and I encourage my constituents to attend," said Meng.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), Vice Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), spoke last night at a congressional reception honoring the cultural, economic, and historical contributions of the Filipino American community.

At the event on Capitol Hill, Meng joined Congressmen T.J. Cox (D-CA) and Bobby Scott (D-VA) who are both Filipino Americans.

The Congresswoman's bill would reauthorize the Interagency Committee on Women's Business Enterprise (ICWBE), a U.S. government entity charged with coordinating federal resources to help women-owned businesses grow and succeed.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) sent a letter to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urging the administration to reverse its decision to withdraw U.S. servicemembers from northeastern Syria. The letter also calls on the administration to continue to protect Kurdish allies, and present a long-term strategy for Syria to Congress.
"The Trump Administration has betrayed the Kurds who have fought side by side with U.S. servicemembers to combat ISIS," said Meng.

Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced that through her work on the House Appropriations Committee, she helped secure a pilot program that will provide tours in Chinese (Mandarin) and Spanish through translation devices that pair with assistive listening device transmitters used by U.S. Capitol Visitors Center (CVC) tour guides. This work builds upon Meng's previous advocacy and efforts to expand language access for guided tours of the U.S. Capitol.

"The American people deserve the truth, and the President deserves the consequences of his actions. President Trump pressured a foreign government to investigate his domestic political rival. I believe this is yet another impeachable offense. President Trump betrayed his oath to the American people.
