QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she urged banks to assist small businesses with applying for coronavirus relief funds under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
In a letter to the five largest banks participating in the program, Meng and other New York Members of Congress called for designated bank staff to be available at branches to help small business owners with submitting their applications in order to speed-up and streamline the process.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Reps. Grace Meng (D-Queens) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Queens/Bronx) led members of the New York congressional delegation in calling on House and Senate leadership to include rent and mortgage forgiveness in the next COVID-19 relief package. As representatives of the hardest hit region in the country, the lawmakers also called for the creation of a Housing and Urban Development (HUD) fund that would reimburse landlords for the cost of cancelling rent for the duration of the crisis, and for an additional six months after the pandemic ends.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that the United States Postal Service has renewed its lease for the post office in Kew Gardens, Queens.
The Postal Service informed Meng's office that the new lease will be for five years from August 1, 2021 to July 31, 2026.
The current lease expires on July 31, 2021.

QUEENS, NY – Today, U.S. Reps. Grace Meng (D-Queens) and Tom Suozzi (D-Queens/L.I.) led members of the New York congressional delegation in calling for co-ops and condos to be eligible for loans under the federal Paycheck Protection Program (PPP).
In a letter to Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Jovita Carranza, the lawmakers called for immediate reconsideration of the decision to exclude co-ops and condos from PPP loans.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) today announced the introduction of legislation that would require all federal government agencies to translate into multiple languages all written COVID-19-related materials that are produced for the public.
The COVID-19 Language Access Act would apply to any federal agency that receives coronavirus-related funding.

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that New York State officials brought a COVID-19 antibody testing site to Flushing, Queens on Friday and Saturday.
The site conducted nearly 200 random tests of local residents each day (179 tests on Friday and 183 tests on Saturday).
