QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she convinced the United States Postal Service to swiftly restore a mail collection box that the agency removed from the corner of 98th Street and the northbound service road of Woodhaven Boulevard in Woodhaven, Queens.
After residents of the area complained that the collection box was suddenly removed from the corner last month, Meng contacted the Postal Service and learned it had been taken away for repairs.

QUEENS, NY – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), State Senator John Liu (D-Queens), Assemblyman Ron Kim (D-Queens) and Councilman Peter Koo (D-Queens) called on the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA), New York City Department of Buildings (NYCDOB) and Con Edison to immediately restore gas service to residents at the Bland Houses in Flushing, Queens.
Since March, 10 apartments at 133-40 Roosevelt Avenue have been without gas. A broken gas line had forced service to be cut off.

"I'm disturbed to see another NYPD officer use an illegal chokehold to hold someone down," said Meng. "It was right to suspend the officer and open an investigation but this must be done in a transparent way and include the officer's history.
