WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement blasting the Supreme Court for striking down New York's law on carrying concealed weapons.
"I condemn this decision by the conservative majority Supreme Court which strikes down New York's concealed carry law. It is a horrible ruling that will have disastrous consequences for public safety. It will permit people to legally carry hidden guns on our city's streets without having to provide any excuse as to why they need a gun.

The competition, which consisted of entries from Queens high school students, is part of "An Artistic Discovery," the national art contest held annually by the House of Representatives that showcases the artwork of all Congressional district art contest winners from across the nation.
