QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today commended Delta Air Lines for its decision to fly quieter airplanes at LaGuardia Airport.
Effective today, Delta will stop flying loud MD-88 aircrafts on a scheduled basis, and will instead fly the existing routes with a mix of quieter Airbus A320 family aircrafts, Boeing 737s and a limited number of MD-90 mainline aircrafts.
"I am thrilled over Delta's decision to use quieter airplanes at LaGuardia and I applaud the airline for being responsive to the needs of Queens residents," said Meng.

"I was disheartened to hear about President Trump's priorities for the upcoming year. His first month has been tumultuous at best, from the chaotic implementation of his disgraceful travel ban to the resignation of his National Security Advisor to his self-inflicted war with the media.
Tonight he spoke of tax reform that would mainly help wealthy corporations, not working men and women.

In a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) demanded that he restore materials on combatting anti-Semitism to the State Department website had been deleted during the transition from the Obama administration.

The missing documents include a fact sheet on anti-Semitism, and issues of a newsletter put out by the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) today sent a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson asking him to fully restore the "Monitoring and Combating Anti-Semitism" section of the State Department website.
"I respectfully request that the information made available at https://www.state.gov/s/rga/seas/ be made to more closely mirror its predecessor page, https://2009-2017.state.gov/s/rga/seas/index.htm," Meng wrote.

"This week alone, eleven Jewish community centers across the country were targeted with bomb threats, including one in Buffalo. In St. Louis, vandals damaged more than 100 headstones in a historic Jewish cemetery. Some headstones belonged to Holocaust survivors.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she has introduced the Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2017 (H.R. 972) which includes five provisions to help different populations of women and girls better access menstrual hygiene items.
"Menstrual hygiene products are not ubiquitous and cheap, despite what popular culture would have us believe," said Meng. "Although most women use these products, many struggle to afford or access these essential items. This is unacceptable.
