QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens), New York's Senior Member of the House Appropriations Committee which funds federal programs, announced today that she has renewed her effort to reopen the Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station in Elmhurst, Queens.
In a new letter to LIRR Interim President Catherine Rinaldi, which was also signed by local city and state elected officials, the Congresswoman urged the MTA to consider reopening and rebuilding the shuttered station.
The facility first began providing railroad service in 1927.

In September 2021, unprecedented flooding from the remnants of Hurricane Ida devastated Queens.

QUEENS, NY – In order to make it easier for Queens residents to obtain passports, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) will host a passport event to help constituents apply for or renew a passport.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the United States Post Office Flushing Main Street location, Suite 1, which is located at 4165 Main Street in Flushing, Queens. No appointment is necessary.
To receive a passport, an individual must be a U.S.
