U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) announced today that she has resumed regular activities after being robbed last night near Capitol Hill.
Meng was walking towards her Washington apartment after having dinner at a D.C. restaurant when she was struck in the back of the head near Sixth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. As she fell to the ground, the perpetrator took her handbag, then fled on foot.

Washington, D.C.— Today, Reps. Grace Meng (D-NY) and Steve Israel (D-NY) and Sens. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) announced that their work to form an airplane noise community roundtable has paid off with the announcement by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo that he has directed the Port Authority to form this roundtable and conduct noise studies.
U.S. Reps. Grace Meng (D-Queens) and Steve Israel (D-Huntington) today called on the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to look into soundproofing schools in northeast Queens in order to prevent constant interruptions due to airplane noise created by new flight patterns and procedures over the area.
