WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) and Senator Edward Markey (D-MA) today called on House and Senate leaders to provide another $1 billion for the Emergency Connectivity Fund (ECF), the $7.1 billion dollar program the two lawmakers helped create last year that connects more students to the internet. The money, which pays for devices and broadband services, helps students who have had no internet access get online, and schools and libraries in Queens and New York City have received millions from the program.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Grace Meng (D-NY) and Congressman Sean Casten (D-IL) introduced the Period PROUD (Providing Resources to Our Underserved and Disadvantaged) Act of 2022 to expand accessibility to menstrual products for those with limited access.
Menstrual products are often considered a luxury, with the cost averaging $13.25 a month, forcing many women to make difficult decisions such as choosing between sanitary pads or food.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations, applauded the House passage of her bipartisan Refugee Sanitation Facility Safety Act as part of the fiscal year 2023 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is Congress' annual defense spending bill.
Meng's legislation would ensure that women and girls in refugee camps are able to access bathrooms without fear of violence. While many hope to find safety in temporary refugee camps, violence and insecurity often follow.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) applauded the House passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (H.R. 7776) which includes Meng's legislation that seeks to address flooding in Queens.
Meng's measure, which is part of the Water Resources and Development Act reauthorization, would authorize the Army Corps of Engineers to spend nearly $120 million to work with the City of New York in upgrading environmental infrastructure in the borough.
