U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) has received a 100+ percent rating from the Humane Society of the United States, the nation's leading animal rights organization.
Meng was awarded the top score in the group's annual Humane Scorecard which is used to rate Members of Congress on animal welfare issues. She was one of only 25 Members of Congress to receive a 100+.

After hearing concerns from parents and their elected representatives in Community School District 26, the New York City Department of Education (DOE) has agreed to allow all elementary students currently matriculated in the Gifted & Talented (G&T) programs to transition to G&T programs at their local middle schools after fifth grade graduation.

Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.) is pushing legislation that would stop stores from selling expired baby formula.
Meng told The Hill she is talking with both Democratic and Republican lawmakers on her bill to keep outdated formula off the shelves. The freshman Democrat has called her legislation "a no-brainer" and is stunned that it's necessary.
