Today, top Democrats in the House introduced three bills that would make it illegal for public and private sector employers to discriminate, sexually harass and retaliate against interns.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on the Federal Railroad Administration's (FRA) safety review of New York and Atlantic Railway. The FRA announced the launching of its review yesterday in the wake of the July 8th collision between a freight train and tractor-trailer in Maspeth, Queens.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today announced a $220,000 federal grant for Queens College.

The funds, allocated by the U.S. Department of Education, will be used for the school to continue its Disability Student Support Services project, an initiative that assists enrolled students with disabilities.

Under the program, 100 low-income students with disabilities are provided with numerous support services to aid them with their studies, and help ensure that they graduate.

U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on new dashcam video showing a freight train colliding with a tractor-trailer in Maspeth. The video, which aired yesterday on WABC TV's Eyewitness News, reveals that the gate at the railroad crossing failed to come down.
"The video showing the freight train crashing into a tractor-trailer is extremely scary. And it's very disturbing that the gate at the railroad crossing failed to come down in time. While we're thankful that nobody was killed, we must get answers as to why this happened.
