WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) secured nearly $20 million in a key transportation and infrastructure bill to upgrade the Forest Hills Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) station, create vehicle charging stations in Flushing and Bayside, and replace medians in Oakland Gardens that are in need of repair.
The funding was included in the INVEST in America Act, a transformative five-year, $547 billion surface transportation reauthorization bill.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), Vice Chair of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on State and Foreign Operations – which has oversight over the U.S. State Department – announced today that she received a commitment from Secretary of State Tony Blinken to address reunifying Korean American families with their loved ones in North Korea.
Meng secured the pledge when the Secretary testified before the subcommittee yesterday.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) announced today that she reintroduced legislation to improve the way businesses notify the public about recalls in order to better protect consumers from using dangerous products.
The Total Recall Act would require businesses to post recall notices on their websites and all social media accounts. For a mandatory recall, businesses would be required to notify the public by spending at least 25 percent of the money they used for traditional marketing of the product.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – To help commemorate Menstrual Hygiene Day today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY) introduced the Menstrual Equity for All Act of 2021, a bold, whole-of-government, and comprehensive initiative that seeks to help different populations of women and girls afford and access needed menstrual products, including tampons, pads and many other items.
"Period products are necessary and essential items for anyone who menstruates, and access to these items are a health care and human right," said Meng.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today commended Attorney General Merrick Garland for putting forward a plan to better combat hate incidents.
The steps are outlined by the Attorney General in a memorandum released late this afternoon, and are the result of Meng's COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act and a 30-day review of how the Department of Justice can better use its resources to counter hate crimes and hate incidents.
