Meng Statement on Rainfall and Flooding

September 2, 2021
QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on the rainfall and flooding in New York.
"Neighborhoods throughout my congressional district continue to recover from the damage sustained by the unprecedented impact caused by the rainfall and flooding. I'm pleased that President Biden has offered any assistance that New York needs, and I urge him to swiftly approve a major disaster declaration for our state so that impacted constituents can seek relief. I also urge constituents to document their losses and damage for potential claims.
It is devastating to learn about those who lost their lives due to the weather, and I am keeping them and their loved ones in my thoughts and prayers.
I urge all New Yorkers to stay safe, and my staff and I stand ready to help constituents in any way we can."
