Meng Joins Senate Majority Leader Schumer, House Speaker Pelosi and Colleagues to Call for Passage of Her COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act to Address Anti-Asian Hate

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), First Vice Chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), joined Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senator Mazie Hirono (D-HI) and Rep. Andy Kim (D-NJ) to call for the passage of Meng's COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act which seeks to help combat the ongoing bigotry and violence directed towards Asian Americans.
Meng reintroduced the legislation last month and President Biden recently issued a statement saying he supports the measure, and called on Congress to pass it.
