Meng Issues Statement on the Death of Three Israeli Teens

June 30, 2014
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-NY), a member of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East, this afternoon released the following statement on the discovery of the bodies of the three Israeli teens who were kidnapped earlier this month.
"The horrifying discovery of these three innocent Israeli teens is heartbreaking, and I am deeply saddened by this terrible and senseless loss.
My deepest condolences and sympathies go out to the parents and families of Naftali, Gilad and Eyal. As the mother of two boys, I cannot begin to imagine what they are going through.
I hope that the perpetrators responsible for this heinous and cowardly crime are swiftly brought to justice, and I call on U.S officials to assist Israel in any way they can.
The United States continues to stand with our friend and ally Israel, and our thoughts and prayers are with the teens' families and all the people of Israel during this very difficult time."
