Meng Issues Statement on NYC Health Department Investigating Cluster of Legionnaires' Disease in Flushing, Queens

QUEENS, NY – U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) today issued the following statement on the New York City Department of Health investigating a cluster of Legionnaires' disease in downtown Flushing, Queens. Twelve confirmed cases of Legionnaires' disease have been reported in the area in the past two weeks. Meng represents Flushing in Congress.
"My office has been in touch with the Department of Health and I remain in contact with the agency as it investigates the cluster of Legionnaires' disease cases in Flushing. I will be monitoring developments closely and urge area residents to follow the recommendations of the Health Department.
I thank the Department of Health for moving quickly to investigate this matter, and for raising awareness in the community."
