Meng Helps Mother of 8-Year-Old Boy Murdered by His Father in Queens Secure Travel Document

July 9, 2014
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she has helped secure a travel document for the mother of the 8-year-old boy who was murdered last week by his father in Queens.
Prosecutors say 41-year-old Boujeke Kenmoe was charged with murder for strangling his 8-year-old son Jerry in their Fresh Meadows home. Authorities say he then tried to take his own life.
Meng was attempting to help the mother, Orlie Siankam, obtain a travel document that would permit her to return to her native country of Cameroon so that she can bring the child's body back there for his funeral and burial. Meng intervened with the Cameroonian Embassy in Washington to get the paperwork started and arrange for her to be interviewed by embassy officials. After she was interviewed, the document was granted. She is set to depart to Cameroon on Wednesday.
The child attended P.S. 107 in Flushing.
